For a little over one year now, NIM has been prescribing peptide therapies to our patients.   Many of our patients using peptides have reported a significant improvement in their symptoms and overall quality of life.  We have been using peptides to treat a wide range of health issues including chronic fatigue, osteoarthritis, cardiovascular disease, inflammatory bowel disease, allergies, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, hormonal imbalances, ADHD and Epstein Barr virus reactivation. It is no surprise that many of these same peptides have been studied for viral infections, including respiratory viral infections.

  • Thymosin alpha one (TA1) is a first choice and master modulator. In 2003, Thymosin was studied for respiratory viruses such as influenza and SARS COV-1 infections .   TA1 has anti-inflammatory, antiviral and anticancer properties.
  • Thymosin beta 4 (TB4) decreases an inflammatory cytokine storm and decreases lung inflammation and fibrosis. TB4 has been shown to have an anti-inflammatory effect on HIV infected lymphocytes; in studies, it improved lymphocyte counts and decreased viral load.
  • Selank is a nasal spray peptide that is commonly known to have anxiolytic effects. However, this well tolerated nasal spray is also antiviral.  Selank has been shown to stimulate cytokines that help fight viral illness and has been studied for influenza and herpes virus infections.

Many supplements in addition to these peptides can optimize their efficacy and provide long term benefit to your immune system.  Call our office today to schedule an appointment to discuss immune support using peptides or supplements.
